Luxinnovation, the national innovation agency

A public-private initiative that encourages and supports innovation in Luxembourg, for companies, start-ups and research organisations.

Use it for

Creating a company

Guichet.lu, the State's business portal

The public administrations' information portal, where every business procedure is explained step by step.

Use it for

  • The business permit (autorisation d'établissement) and the creation of a company
  • Taxation, hiring, import and export procedures
  • Financial aid for SMEs, research and the environment

House of Entrepreneurship

The national contact point for entrepreneurship, run by the Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Ministry of the Economy and the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts.

Use it for

  • Individual advice at every stage, from the idea to the transfer of a business
  • Free workshops and webinars on setting up, financing and tax obligations
  • Access to its network of banks, administrations and support bodies

LBR Luxembourg Business Registers

The body that keeps the Trade and Companies Register (RCS), the Register of Beneficial Owners (RBE) and the electronic official gazette (RESA).

Use it for

  • Registering a company and filing its documents
  • Declaring its beneficial owners
  • Looking up any Luxembourg company and its filings

Tax and customs

ACD Administration des contributions directes

The direct tax administration: income tax of companies and individuals, and withholding taxes.

Use it for

  • Corporate income tax and its returns
  • Withholding taxes on salaries, dividends and interest
  • The minimum taxation rules for large groups

AED Administration de l'enregistrement, des domaines et de la TVA

The indirect tax administration: VAT, registration duties and the subscription tax.

Use it for

  • Registering for VAT and obtaining a VAT number
  • Filing VAT returns online

ADA Administration des douanes et accises

The customs and excise administration.

Use it for

  • The EORI number needed to import into or export from the European Union

LFF Luxembourg for Finance

The agency for the development of the financial centre, which informs about Luxembourg's financial services and the business opportunities they offer.

  • Understanding what the financial centre offers: banking, investment funds, insurance, capital markets, sustainable finance, fintech
  • Publications, events and data on the financial centre

CSSF Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier

The public institution that supervises the professionals and products of the Luxembourg financial sector.

Use it for

  • Checking that a bank, a fund or an intermediary is authorised (entity search)
  • The authorisation of banks, investment funds, payment and electronic money institutions
  • The rules that apply to financial products and providers

LuxSE Luxembourg Stock Exchange

The exchange for international securities and the home of the Luxembourg Green Exchange, a platform dedicated to sustainable finance.

Use it for

  • Listing bonds, shares and funds in several currencies
  • Displaying green, social and sustainable bonds on the Luxembourg Green Exchange

ABBL Association des Banques et Banquiers, Luxembourg

The association that represents the banking and financial services sector.

Use it for

  • Understanding the banking landscape and its members
  • Positions and information on banking in Luxembourg

ALFI Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry

The association that represents Luxembourg investment funds, asset managers and the businesses that serve them.

Use it for

  • Understanding fund structures (UCITS, alternative funds, RAIF, SIF)
  • Statistics and guides on the fund industry
  • Identifying service providers: depositaries, administrators, law and audit firms

Business community and skills

Chambre de Commerce du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg

The Chamber of Commerce supports companies throughout their life cycle and organises trade missions and international business events.

Use it for

  • Trade missions, fairs and the foreign trade agenda
  • Services for creating and developing a company
  • Arbitration, through the Luxembourg Arbitration Center

House of Training

A continuing vocational training institute, an initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and the ABBL.

Use it for

  • Courses in finance, law, human resources, technology and some twenty other fields
  • Classroom, distance and blended formats
  • Tailor-made training for a company or a delegation

Travel and residence

Immigration Guichet.lu, entering and staying in Luxembourg

The State portal's pages on entry and residence for nationals of countries outside the European Union.

Use it for

  • Short stays of up to 90 days, including business visits
  • Stays of more than 90 days and residence permits
  • The procedures for specific situations
